          REMEMBERANCE DAY CEREMONY AND PARADE
        GETTYSBURG  SATURDAT NOVEMBER 18
Each year the regiment gathers at the Gettysburg battlefield to honor our dead. We begin early
at the National Cemetery where 21 of our Gettysburg dead are buried. Placing Irish flags on their
graves, their biography is read and medallions exchanged. We next march to the 69th monument
for a ceremony and for the honoring of an individual company in the regiment. The Gettysburg
Remembrance Parade is next as the 69th marches through the streets of Gettysburg.
The 69th Pa has a long tradition of locating the "final resting places" of the men who fought with our
regiment during the Civil War. Thus far we have located and financed the placement of 78 stones.
Our researchers have located and cataloged the grave sites of over 532 of the men who served the
regiment. In addition we have held ceremonies at numerous battlefield grave locations.
This Fall on Veterans Day we will assemble to hold a ceremony at the newly acquired gravestones
of four more men of the regiment at the Old Cathedral Cemetery  -  Girard Ave and Lancaster Ave.
We need your support at all of these events
Please join us to keep their memory alive !!!
