Memorial Day - Bridesburg Philadelphia Parade
On Memorial Day, Monday May 27th the regiment marched in the Bridesburg Parade. The Bridesburg section
of Philadelphia holds each year one of the oldest Memorial Day parades in the area. During the Civil War the
Bridesburg arsenal supplied small arms to the Union Army as well as fuses and ammunition. It was a major
supply and repair center for Federal equipment and was the testing site of the first Gatling gun.
