Irish Patriots Plaque Ceremony
Irish Month Proclamation
March 10th, 2016 City Hall Philadelphia
The 69th Pa was asked by the City of Philadelphia to provide a Color Guard
for two ceremonies March 10th 2016 at City Hall. The first was to participate
in the rededication of the Philadelphia Patriots Plaque which stands outside
the West entrance to City Hall. This plaque honors the Irish participation in
the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the signing of the
Constitution by Philadelphia Irish leaders and the role of Irishman in the War
for Independence. The two flags of the 69th Pa formed a backdrop to the
reading of a proclamation and ceremony on a beautiful March day.
