Hay Creek Festival
September 7-9, 2018
16 members of the 69th Pa braved the rain storms to represent the unit at the Hay Creek Festival near
Morgantown Pa. A small contingent set up camp on Friday and survived the pouring rain that night to
be joined by reinforcements the following morning. During the day Friday large numbers of school
children arrived in camp and were given instructions on Civil War life and history. When the rains
ended Saturday morning the camp became a place where visitors could purchase our tee- shirts and
music cd's and learn about our gravestone project. The 69th soldiers fought rebel troops during a
mock battle for the spectators on Saturday afternoon capturing "Rebel Hill" and taking prisoners.
