PENNYPACKER " CIVIL WAR WEEKEND"
Each year the quiet community of Schwenksville, Pa hears the sound sounds of cannon fire and rifle
volley as Federal and Confederate reenactors engage in mock battle in the nearby fields of the
Pennypacker mansion, once the home of Civil War soldier and Pa Governor Samuel Pennypacker.
The mansion and park is located along the Perkioman Creek. Each year the 69th Pa sets up[ camp to
educate visitors and to recreate a mock Civil War engagement. This year the event was well attended
by 69th members. The weather during the day was mild and sunny however a fierce thunder storm
struck the camp later Saturday Night. The good time was had by all in attendance.
